About the song:

This is yet another song that my personal friend and Internet sensation Fipi Lele recommended. This song has such an incredible beat, I've never seen Jingle Bells taken quite to this level of rock. It was recorded by the enigmatically named, "Xmas Band". I wish I knew more about them, because they really did an excellent job with this song.

I ended up creating a lot of back-and-forth motion to go along with the beat of the song, but the action during the drum fills seems to catch a lot of the attention. The fade-down at the end was probably anti-climatic.

Fipi has an incredible eye for music, but she also has incredible reach. As it turns out, this song is only available in the UK, and as DJ music. You simply can't buy this song in the United Stated. No lie! It ended up costing $50 to import a CD with this song into the US.

This sequence got one of the best reactions from a an online test audience I used.

About the sequence (written in 2006):

These sequences are based off of a 2-color blue and white display. LED bulbs are used in everything but the snowflake projector. When the aqua dots appear on the preview window, that is when two snowfall projectors kick in, bringing dots of light down the front of the house.

Probably one of the more unusual elements of the display is that since it is LED based, many times, the bulbs are not run at 100%. In many songs, 100% is actually an accent point, and 40-50% may be the normal intensity for the bulbs. As well, sometimes the bulbs will run all the way down to 10%. They'll be hard to see in the animation window, but in the real world, the bulbs will be dimly lit.

This is my first year working with Light-O-Rama (or any computer controlled Christmas lights). But I have decided to release all of these songs to the public on December 15th. Use for any purpose, modify as you wish. I just ask that if you have a way of giving me credit (print, website, etc) that you do so.
