| | You can have problems getting downloading to work smoothly with IE7. The blocking behaviour of IE7 against downloads can be modified through Tools --> Internet Options --> Security. There is also a problem with the automatic startup of downloads in IE7. This is because of a block put on automatic JavaScript running when a window loads. You can remove the block by enabling the security option "Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows" which is near the end of the list in Tools --> Internet Options --> Security. | |

For copyright reasons, we can not include the audio with your download. You'll need to get your own legal copy of the audio in order to play the sequence. Most authors have provided the album information so you can get the correct song. Once the song is on your computer, open the sequence in the sequence editor, click on "edit," then "audio file." Browse to the location of the audio on your computer. |

This issue appears to be related to the waveform that displays in the new version of LOR. Since you don't have the correct audio file on your computer, LOR crashes when trying to display the waveform. Be sure the waveform is turned OFF by default before opening files. Update 2008: Another related issue occurs with S2 aka LOR2. If you attempt to open a S2 file in LOR Sequencer version 1.6.1 or earlier, the sequencer will crash due in compatibilities. Please be sure you are using version 2.0 or later. |

You will need a few items to get the files to work. First, download a copy of the demo version of the Light-O-Rama software. http://www.lightorama.com/demo.php This demo software is the full version of Light-O-Rama, except you can not use it to actually control Christmas lights. It's a great way to see how the software works and if it's right for you. I personally think you will find it very easy to learn. This software is required to play the files on your computer because all the files on this website are only compatible with the vendor Light-O-Rama. [more] |

The search function is quirky and doesn't work the best. To get the best results, one word searches seem to work the best. Make sure you are using the correct search function! You need to enter the downloads area and click the search link at the bottom of the page. |

Make sure you are using the correct audio file! If the sequence was written using Album "A" and you get the some from album "B" or download it somewhere on the internet, there is a good chance you don't have exactly the same audio. For example, maybe the copy you have is at a slightly different tempo. There are additional problems with using MP3 files. If your MP3 was encoded using a variable bit rate, the synchronizaion will not work correctly. You can fix this by installing Audacity on your computer. Open the mp3 in Audacity, and export a NEW copy as MP3. If your problem was a variable bit rate, this new copy will no longer have the problem. [more] |

Light-O-Rama is one brand of computer control. They sell all the hardware, software, and accessories necessary to put on your own computer controlled light show. All the files on this website are for Light-O-Rama, and you can learn more about the company at their website: http://lightorama.com/ |

|
I personally use Light-O-Rama, but each brand has their pros and cons. Rest assured, whatever brand you choose, you will be happy with your choice. They are all quality products that achieve the same goal. Feel free to email me if you have specific questions about each brand. I know what it's like to try to pick the "best" vendor when it's an overwhelming task just to figure out what differentiates each brand. |

The files on this website are free. If you're asking about the cost of computer control, it is an expensive hobby. However, you can start small for a reasonable cost, and grow your display over time. You should expect to spend at least $250-$500 to get started. |
